Mother and Daughter Give Birth Just Hours Apart — in the Same Hospital
In a rare and heartwarming family milestone, Tammy Black, 41, and her daughter Amanda Black, 22, gave birth just 15 hours apart — in neighboring hospital rooms and under the care of the same doctor.
On February 27, 2023, at 6:30 p.m., Tammy and her husband Bill, 62, welcomed their son Cooper Elliot Black at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire. The following morning, on February 28 at 9:06 a.m., Amanda and her fiancé Josh Coyle celebrated the birth of their daughter, Paisley Ray Coyle, delivered via C-section after complications during labor.
Both babies were born healthy and measured 19½ inches long — with Cooper weighing 6 lbs. and Paisley weighing 7 lbs. 7 oz.
“It’s just an amazing and incredible thing,” said Bill, who recently overcame cancer and described the double arrival as a blessing.
Tammy, who believed she could no longer have children, shared the same sense of awe and gratitude:
“He’s a blessing for sure.”
Now, with their newborns arriving just hours apart, the Black family says life will be joyfully busy — filled with love, laughter, and two little cousins destined to grow up side by side.
