An update out of North Odessa, Texas, has left the community shaken to its core. A fifteen-year-old boy is now in custody, charged with three counts of Capital Murder after a horrific triple homicide that unfolded last night.
Police were called to the 87th Street Apartments around 5:45 in the evening on December 9. When officers entered the home, they found three victims already gone. The teen suspect was quickly located and taken into custody at the scene.
Investigators say the fifteen-year-old originally planned to shoot his ex-girlfriend outside of school, but changed his mind and went to her home instead. Once inside, he opened fire. Her mother, thirty-nine-year-old Jessica Rodriguez, was shot first. He then turned the gun on his ex-girlfriend’s younger siblings, a nine-year-old brother and a thirteen-year-old sister.
All three were pronounced dead inside the residence. Families have been notified, and detectives are still working through the details of this devastating case.
A home full of children and a mother doing her best to raise them became the scene of an unimaginable loss. My heart is with this family and everyone who has been affected.
