TV presenter Davina McCall’s fiancé, Michael Douglas, has revealed that the beloved star is now battling breast cancer, just months after she underwent life-saving brain surgery.
Michael, who has stood by Davina through every challenge, described the past year as “the most terrifying time of our lives.”
Watching the person you love go through this again… it’s heartbreaking,” he said quietly. “The last year has been nothing short of horrific for Davina.”

Michael shared that Davina found a small lump in her breast while filming The Masked Singer.
At first, she thought it was nothing serious, as the lump “came and went.” But one day, during filming at ITV studios, she noticed a Change and Check poster in the restroom — part of Lorraine Kelly’s awareness campaign — and decided she couldn’t ignore it any longer.
She looked in the mirror and told me, ‘I’m going to get this checked.’” Michael recalled.
A biopsy confirmed their worst fears — it was breast cancer. Within days, Davina underwent a lumpectomy at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital.

Thankfully, the cancer was caught early and hadn’t spread. She will now undergo five days of radiotherapy in January, which doctors describe as a “precautionary measure.”
💬 “She’s the Strongest Woman I Know”
Michael admitted that Davina was “furious” when she first got the diagnosis, but her anger quickly turned into determination.
“She told me, ‘I beat a brain tumor. I can beat this too.’ And I believe her — she’s the strongest woman I’ve ever known.”
He also expressed deep gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Royal Marsden, and to Davina’s three children — Holly (24), Tilly (22), and Chester (19) — for their love and support during the ordeal.
🌸 A Wave of Love Across Britain
After Michael’s revelation, an outpouring of love flooded social media.
TV stars Amanda Holden, Claudia Winkleman, and Julia Bradbury — herself a breast cancer survivor — all sent heartfelt messages.

“I’m so glad Davina saw one of our ‘Change and Check’ posters. It caught her cancer early — and it may have saved her life.”
🧠 A Fighter Who’s Faced Death Before
Less than a year ago, Davina underwent a grueling six-hour brain surgery to remove a rare colloid cyst that doctors said could have been fatal if left untreated.
Michael stayed by her side through that nightmare — and now, once again, he is there, holding her hand through another battle.
“She never gives up,” he said softly. “We’re fighting this together — just like we always do.”
