Mum Juggling Three Babies Under One Opens Up About the Chaos — and Reveals She’s Pregnant Again
A mother who once found herself caring for three children all aged one and under has shared an honest glimpse into the exhausting reality of life with very young kids — while revealing she’s now expecting another baby.
Rachelle Swannie and her husband Justin are parents to daughter Emma, now three, along with twin boys Reuben and Asher, who are set to turn two next month. When the twins arrived in April 2020, the couple suddenly had three children all under the age of one — a situation Rachelle says pushed them to their limits.
The family, who live in Temecula, often share their day-to-day experiences on Rachelle’s YouTube channel, where she speaks candidly about the challenges of parenting multiple babies at once.
One of the hardest parts, she admits, has been the lack of sleep.
“I’m really hoping last night was a one-off,” Rachelle said in one video. “None of the kids slept, and that’s just the reality when you have three babies who are one and under. You can literally hear Emma screaming from the other room.”
The exhaustion has been so intense that even routine tasks have turned into competition.
“Justin and I actually argue about who gets to run errands,” she explained. “Not because we want to help, but because we’re desperate for a few minutes out of the house.”
Evenings are often the toughest, as soothing one child can trigger tears from another.
“I’ll pick up Reuben because he’s crying, and the moment I do, Asher starts crying too,” Rachelle said.
Justin admitted that nighttime can be especially difficult for him.
“There’s a phase where the boys are completely inconsolable with me and only want their mum,” he said. “It’s really hard. I want to help, but sometimes I just can’t, and that’s tough on both of us.”
Despite the exhaustion, Rachelle insists she wouldn’t change her life for anything.
“No matter how tired I am, I’m still happier than I’ve ever been,” she said. “It might sound cheesy, but Justin and I dreamed about having this family for so long.”
The couple’s journey hasn’t been without heartbreak. They previously lost their first baby, Brynn, shortly after she was born prematurely — an experience that made their growing family even more meaningful.
Now, Rachelle and Justin are preparing to welcome their fifth child later this summer.
The couple have been open about their struggles with fertility and previously relied on IVF to conceive — something Rachelle says she never takes lightly.
In a recent Instagram post, she wrote: “There are days when I still stop and cry because my children are the greatest gifts I’ve ever been given. I’m endlessly grateful for them.”
Although doctors once told the couple they had only a one per cent chance of conceiving naturally, Rachelle and Justin defied expectations and are now expecting their fifth child without medical assistance.
For Rachelle, the journey has been overwhelming, exhausting — and deeply rewarding.
“It’s hard,” she says. “But I wouldn’t change a single thing.”
